This year, our teams nationwide donated toys and delivered them children’s hospitals. Giving back is in the DNA of our Highway Transport family.
In October, team members donated a multitude of new toys. As part of our first Toys from Tankers program, toys were gathered at our service centers across the country and then donated to local children’s hospitals.
For example, service center manager Blake Horton delivered toys to Cincinnati Children’s, a hospital near to the Highway Transport Northern Kentucky service center.
“It was a humbling and meaningful kick-off to the holiday season to deliver these toys that our team had generously donated,” Horton said. “I was excited to see the games, dolls, dinosaurs, and of course, trucks! But when I got to the children’s hospital, I was reminded that it is about much more than toys – it’s about joy. And that makes me very proud of Highway Transport.”

The toys are being distributed as part of their Christmas Outreach Program in the local community.
Throughout 2022, Highway Transport has committed to hands-on outreach in each community where the company operates. This initiative, called Highway Helping Hands, has been chaired by Michelle Horbach, Highway Transport National Account Executive in the Midwest. In 2023, the Highway Helping Hands program will be chaired by Highway Transport National Account Executive, Patricia Wardrep.
Toys from Tankers capped off a very successful first year of the program, and Highway Transport is committed to continuing the volunteer and philanthropy efforts in 2023. Starting in the New Year, Patricia’s Highway Helping Hands committee will be collecting food donations for Second Harvest Food Bank.
