A nice autumn evening in Chattanooga was a great time for honoring Lydell Summerville and Dexter Ratliff. Company leaders enjoyed getting to know Lydell’s family. Marshall Franklin and Greg Watkins were grateful to present each man with a plaque commemorating their outstanding achievements:
- Dexter – One Million Miles
- Lydell – Two Million Miles
Lydell was especially proud to have his son Alex by his side. Alex also attended his dad’s 20-year Rolex ceremony back in 2016. The two million mile decal will be placed upon Lydell’s tractor. Lydell received a commemorative plaque. A two million mile plaque will be displayed on the wall of honor at Highway Transport Corporate Headquarters in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Lydell Summerville’s 20-Year Rolex Ceremony in 2016
It was a bright sunny day for honoring Highway’s best and brightest. Lydell Summerville was presented the 20-year Rolex watch by Greg Watkins, Vice Chairman. People naturally gravitate toward Lydell because he is always laughing and finding the good in every situation. Customers love Lydell who approaches everyone with a sunny disposition. What an appropriate day for friends and fellowship in the shade of the shop bays at the Chattanooga service center. Everyone lined up to have their picture taken with Lydell who said, “The first picture I want taken is with my son.” Andy Schultz said to Lydell, “You’re such a great asset to the company. Customers love you. They (referring to Chattanooga service center employees Shaleece Pillow and Becky Sanders) love dispatching you. Thank you.”
