Highway Transport, along with American Trucking Associations and the entire trucking industry is planning a week-long celebration of the millions of professional truck drivers who deliver America’s freight safely and securely every day.
“Our nation’s professional truck drivers literally deliver for America every day,” says Marshall Franklin, President & CFO. “We’re happy to take this week to recognize their hard work and dedication to the American people during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week.”
Celebrated annually, this year’s National Truck Driver Appreciation Week runs from September 8 through September 14. Throughout National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, Highway Transport drivers enjoy cookouts and gifts at all company locations.
There are more than 3.5 million professional truck drivers nationwide, including 400 working for Highway Transport – delivering all of life’s essential goods – from food to fuel, medicine to clothing. These hard-working professionals drove more than 724 billion miles last year, delivering nearly 10.8 billion tons of freight – accounting for roughly 70% of all freight moved in the United States. Eighty percent of U.S. communities depend solely on trucking to deliver goods.
This year, Highway Transport asks you to join them and ATA in recognizing the significant contributions our professional truck drivers make to our lives. Their efforts contribute directly to our quality of life and truly move America forward.
