Here at Highway Transport, we celebrated our NTTC Grand Champion, Tom Frain. A large crowd gathered at Tom’s home terminal (Knoxville, TN) in recognition for being crowned NTTC’s 2021 – 2022 Professional Tank Truck Driver of the Year Grand Champion. The event was hosted by employees at Highway’s Knoxville service center off Amherst Road.
Tom’s family attended and enjoyed supporting him while he received recognition by many at Highway Transport, including President & CFO, Marshall Franklin. A speech was given by NTTC President & CEO, Ryan Streblow, and Great West Safety Services, Matt Wise.
“Tom Frain’s professionalism and pride for the tank truck industry embodies what the Professional Tank Truck Driver of the Year Award represents in our industries,” stated NTTC President & CEO Ryan Streblow. “He stated the support of his family and his work family during his acceptance speech earlier this year, and it is evident by the incredible number of family and Highway Transport employees there to recognize him today.”
Highway Transport awarded Tom with a company plaque + a new Mack Truck branded with the National Tank Truck Carrier (NTTC) Driver of the Year logo. Great West Casualty Company, exclusive sponsor of NTTC’s Professional Driver of the Year Program, also presented Tom with an award for his accomplishments. Tom also received a die cast truck from the NTTC.
In addition to being NTTC Grand Champion, Tom Frain also enjoys serving as a Road Team Captain for Tennessee Trucking Association. Marty Pollock, Director of Safety for Tennessee Trucking Association, presented Tom with a Certificate of Congratulations.
Not only was this a home-crowd celebration, it was also the day before Tom’s birthday. Employees, friends, and colleagues all joined together in wishing Tom “Happy Birthday” with cake and ice cream.
