a message from Larry Edwards, Vice President of Fleet & Maintenance
Effective May 1st, 2018, Highway Transport changed from the PrePass weigh station program to
the DriveWyze system. The DriveWyze system has over 700 weigh station
agreements. More than double that PrePass offers.
The DriveWyze system utilizes our OmniTracs communications to alert our drivers thru
their display when they are approaching a weigh station at 2 mile and 1 mile intervals
and prompt the driver whether to bypass or enter. Our drivers will no longer
need a transponder to accomplish this since it works thru OmniTracs.
On May 1st we will remotely activate the DriveWyze system. It will update the
software in the OmniTracs unit and start working. There are pamphlets enclosed for
our drivers showing how the DriveWyze system works.
Information for Highway Transport Truck Drivers
Once the DriveWyze system is working, we need to collect the PrePass transponders
from each truck and send them to Knoxville / Amherst – Attention: Carol Guinn.
It is critical that we obtain all of them to send back to PrePass. We will be charged for
any transponders not turned in. I will send a list to each location indicating truck
numbers and transponder numbers that need to be collected.
